gave Lali Bridge the Excellence in Design Award of the year. According
to a news released by IWPCO's PR, announcing the news Mr. Zahedi, the
executive secretary of the 9th conference said: "various features such
as long spanning, high piers and pylons as well as construction
technique were taken into account in selection process".
He added
"construction of cable-strayed bridges is very challenging and entails
having great technical knowledge. This, as well as some other aspects
convinced the Jury to give Lali Bridge the award.
"Good quality of
project management, excellent design and careful construction were the
main features that convinced jury to give the award" believed Mr.
Honarbakhsh, project manager of Lali, in this respect.
He stated:" the award was given to IWPCO to appreciate its support and effective cooperation in the project."
Lali
cable- stayed bridge is a subproject of Upper Gotvand ( Gotavand-olya)
Dam and Hydro power project that replaced the submerged old bridge. The
cable-stayed bridge was constructed to maintain Lali to Masjed-Soleyman
connection. The bridge inaugurated in July 2011 by Mr. Rahimi, Iran's
first Vice President.
The bridge structure is composite and it spans
460 meters. The height of piers and pylons reaches 141m together. The
bridge deck is 17.5m wide and provides a 13.5 meter carriageway.
